Pogled was built in 1963 on the island Rab from the wood of an oak tree that is only found on this island. The first sketches of the boat were drawn on thick paper from the market during a lunch break. When she was ready to ‘launch’, locals were were fascinated by her, murmuring “look at the view on that boat” and that’s how Pogled got her name; in English pogled means view.
First used as a cargo ship, Pogeld carried ice to fishing boat and then brought the fish back toland. In the early 1970’s, the first cabins were built on Pogled for passenger cruising along the Adriatic coast. She received a complete renovation in 2014 but has retained her original hull.
