KNEZA

HOME - OUR SHIPS - TRADITIONAL - KNEZA

Kneza has a rich history and is also the oldest ship in our fleet.
She was built in 1878 as a sailing cargo ship and sailed under the name "Slavni Josip.”
In 1924 she was one of the first ships to be converted into a motor boat.
During the first world war, Kneza was used by the "Botor-Kotorska" navy and was also used prior to the World War II.
In 1944 the ship ended up in Italy and was there until the end of WWII.
In 1948 the ship was seized by Yugoslavia and  donaten it to the transport company "Dupin" in Sibenik.
The name was changed to "Kneza" after a place on the island of Korcula.  Despite the fact that the ship has already been through so much, it is very well maintained and still looks very beautiful.
